  Instructor Training

For the past nine years, Mutlow's have been training people to become driving instructors.
Our courses are unique and differ from many because we do not ask for payment in
advance (nor do we recommend that you pay money up front for any ADI training). All of
our training is undertaken on a 1:1 basis, and you pay by the hour for the hour's training
that you are receiving. All our trainers are experienced ADIs, some of whom were formally
BSM trainers, and some of whom are police trained drivers. Please contact us for further
information on our qualifications and experience.

In order to qualify as a Driving Standards Agency (DSA) Approved Driving Instructor (ADI)
there are certain requirements that have to be met, as not everyone is suitable for a
career as a driving instructor. In summary, these requirements relate to:

  - Non-motoring and motoring convictions
  - Status of your driving licence, including any penalty points
  - Your eyesight

The DSA examination consists of three parts, as follows:

  1. The theory and hazard perception test
  2. The driving ability test
  3. The test of ability to give instruction

You must pass all three parts within a period of two years to qualify as a DOT ADI.

If you are interested in becoming a driving instructor, contact us for our free information
pack without obligation. This contains comprehensive details of the requirements of
each of the three parts of the DSA examination, and is essential reading for anyone
considering pursuing a career as a driving instructor.
